This Dallas project involved fully relocating a homeowner’s existing Halo whole home carbon filtration system from one property to another. The original tank had been installed below ground, so our first step was to excavate and safely remove it. Once the tank was out, we backfilled the hole, reconnected the water piping at the original home, and transported the equipment to the client’s new residence.
At the new property, the homeowner wanted the carbon system installed neatly under the stairwell, requiring several steps to complete the relocation properly. In the crawlspace, we tied into the existing 3″ PVC drain and installed a new PVC trap with an AAV vent, ensuring proper discharge for backwashing. We located the main water line, redirected it toward the stairwell, and cored through the flooring as needed for clean pipe routing.
Our team then added a four-way electrical outlet from an existing switch to power the system, installed a new prefilter on the incoming supply line, and reinstalled the Halo carbon tank in its new position. Everything was flushed, tested, and confirmed to be leak-free. We also advised the homeowner that any internal tank issues discovered during relocation would be communicated immediately, though none were found on this job.
